ALTOONA, Pa. – Women's bowling took fourth place in the Penn State Altoona quad match on Sunday afternoon at the F.A. Gerhart Lanes at the Bavarian Aid Society.
The quad match featured four Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference teams, as Penn State Altoona welcomed Saint Vincent College, Pitt-Bradford, and La Roche University to town.

La Roche went 2-2 on the day and held down third place with 2,826 pins, and Penn State Altoona came in fourth with 2,670 pins and a 1-3 record.
The match started with three rounds of five-game baker format matches decided by total pinfall.

Penn State Altoona faced La Roche in its second match of the day and suffered a 680-603 loss. The Lady Lions dug themselves an early hole in the match, getting outscored 291-187 through the first two games. Penn State Altoona bounced back to post a 416-389 advantage over La Roche in the last three games, but the early deficit proved to be too much to overcome.
The Lady Lions took on St. Vincent in the day's third match, losing 791-621. Penn State Altoona had its single game high score during the match, posting 154 in the fifth game. But it was not enough to get past St. Vincent's total of 791.
After the results from the first three rounds, Penn State Altoona took the fourth seed heading into the final round and faced number three seed La Roche in the day's consolation match, a best-of-seven baker match. La Roche won the first two games by scores of 158-148 and 158-123, but Penn State Altoona responded by winning the next two by scores of 128-112 and 138-103 to tie the match score at 2-2. But La Roche took the next two games by 140-106 and 160-112 decisions to defeat the Lady Lions in the consolation.
