Four Lions Named to At-Large CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Postseason academic recognition continued to roll in Tuesday, when four Penn State Altoona student-athletes earned places in the College Sports Communicators' At-Large category of its NCAA Division III All-District honors.

To be eligible for a spot on an Academic All-District team, student-athletes must meet certain academic and athletic requirements. Academically, student-athletes must be at least sophomores while holding cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. For golfers, nominees must have been in the lineup for at least 70 percent of their squad's team scoring events, or in the lineup at the conference championship tournament. For volleyball, nominees must have competed in at least 90 percent of their team's matches, or started in at least two-thirds of the matches.

In the CSC's NCAA Division III Academic All-District At-Large category, Penn State Altoona saw two men's golfers, one women's golfer, and one men's volleyball player pick up the recognition:

Men's Golf:

-sophomore Daniel Batrus (Altoona, PA/Altoona); majoring in Business

-sophomore Nicky Riscica (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North); majoring in Business

Women's Golf:

-senior Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic); majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education

Men's Volleyball:

-sophomore Landen Fisher (Altoona, PA/Altoona); majoring in Mechanical Engineering
