Varsity A Club Announces Student-Athlete Alumni Weekend
The Penn State Altoona Varsity A Club, in cooperation with student members of the Sheetz Fellows Program, are hosting a Penn State Altoona Student-Athlete Alumni weekend, Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Alumni are invited to kick off the weekend with a social gathering at Champs Sports Grill in Altoona on Friday evening, April 3, beginning at 6 p.m. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and shared plates will be available throughout the evening with the opportunity to interact with members of the athletic staff, coaches, and alumni spanning decades of Penn State Altoona Athletics.
On Saturday, April 4, alumni, friends and families are invited for tours of the Adler Athletic Complex, the campus, and to hear from athletic staff on the growth and future development of Penn State Altoona Athletics. Current student-athletes and coaches will be on hand for a meet and greet to accompany the tours and information sessions.
Two events culminate the alumni gathering. At 11 a.m., alumni and their guests are invited to a farewell brunch in Port Sky Café. Attendees can also register for a free round of golf on Saturday afternoon, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Sinking Valley Country Club, home of the Penn State Altoona Golf Team.
All events are complimentary, except for alcohol at Champs Altoona and purchases in addition to golf at Sinking Valley Country Club. Golf fees are included with participation in the weekend.
A hotel room block is available at Hampton Inn Altoona on Goods Lane and Plank Road in Altoona. The Hampton Inn shares a parking lot with Champs Sports Grill. Payment is responsibility of the attendee with a rate of $124.00 per night, plus taxes and fees. There is a booking link in the Google form below.
