Chamberlain Named AMCC Player of the Week
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona senior infielder Corey Chamberlain (Claysburg, PA/Claysburg-Kimmel) was selected the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week in baseball on Monday.
Chamberlain had a great day at the plate on Sunday afternoon, when the Lions started their season with a doubleheader sweep of non-conference opponent Mary Baldwin University on the road.
In game one, a 10-9 Penn State Altoona win, Chamberlain went 1-for-3 with four runs batted in, a double, and a walk. The senior followed that up by hitting 3-for-4 with three RBI, three runs scored, a double, and a walk in game two, a 10-3 victory for the Lions.
Chamberlain finished the day hitting 4-for-7 (.571) with seven RBI, three runs scored, two doubles, and two walks.
Penn State Altoona baseball continues its schedule on the road this Wednesday, February 26, traveling to face non-conference foe Waynesburg University in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
