Baseball Releases 2026 Schedule
ALTOONA, Pa. — The Penn State Altoona baseball program announced its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season on Wednesday afternoon, featuring a slate of non-conference and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchups, as well as its annual spring break trip to Florida.
The Lions are set to open their season on Saturday, February 21, with a road doubleheader at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Va., starting at 12 p.m. One week later, on Saturday, February 28, Penn State Altoona travels to Harrisonburg, Va., for another doubleheader against Eastern Mennonite University, with the game one start time scheduled for 11 a.m.
The team will then head south to return to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational during spring break. From March 5 through March 14, the Lions are slated to face various Division III non-conference opponents at neutral sites in Florida, with game times and matchups to be announced.
Upon returning from Florida, Penn State Altoona will host Waynesburg University in a home doubleheader on Wednesday, March 18, when the first game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Conference play begins on Saturday, March 21, when the Lions welcome AMCC rival Penn State Behrend for a home doubleheader at 1 p.m.
On Tuesday, March 24, Penn State Altoona continues its homestand with a pair of non-conference games against Wilson College, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The Lions return to AMCC play on Saturday, March 28, hosting Pitt-Bradford in another doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
April begins with a single nine-inning conference game at home against nearby Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, April 1, at 3 p.m. The two teams will meet again in Cresson on Saturday, April 4, for a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
Penn State Altoona visits La Roche University for a single nine-inning conference game on Wednesday, April 8, at 3 p.m., before hosting the Redhawks for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, beginning at 1 p.m. The Lions then travel to Thiel College for a single nine-inning non-conference game on Sunday, April 12, at 1 p.m.
The conference schedule continues on Wednesday, April 15, when the Lions host Pitt-Greensburg for a single nine-inning game at 3 p.m. On Saturday, April 18, Penn State Altoona travels to Pitt-Greensburg for a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
On Thursday, April 23, the Lions visit Penn College for a pair of non-conference games starting at 1 p.m. They will resume AMCC action on Saturday, April 25, with a road doubleheader at Alfred State College at 1 p.m. The month wraps up with a single nine-inning non-conference game at Juniata College on Wednesday, April 29, at 3:30 p.m., followed by the return game against the Eagles at home on Thursday, April 30, also at 3:30 p.m.
Penn State Altoona will close out the regular season on Saturday, May 2, with an AMCC road doubleheader at Hilbert College. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Should the Lions qualify for the AMCC postseason tournament, the conference playoffs are scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, through Saturday, May 9, in Johnstown.
