Men's Basketball Releases 2026-27 Schedule

ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona men's basketball announced its 2026-27 schedule on Monday afternoon.

The Lions' 25-game regular season includes 14 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference games, 11 home contests, and a trio of two-day tournaments. In addition to its regular-season slate, the team will also go on the road for a pair of exhibition games against Division I opponents.

The Lions will open the season on Saturday, Nov. 7, with a road game at Christopher Newport University, with the start time still to be announced. Penn State Altoona remains on the road on Sunday, Nov. 8, for a 2 p.m. game at Regent University. The home opener is set for Wednesday, Nov. 11, when the Lions host Penn College at 6 p.m.

Penn State Altoona then travels to New Wilmington for the Buzz Ridl Classic, where it will face Thiel College on Friday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. before taking on host school Westminster College on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. The Lions continue their road swing on Tuesday, Nov. 17, with a 7 p.m. game at Franciscan University.

The schedule then sends Penn State Altoona to Wooster, Ohio, for the Al Van Wie/Wooster Rotary Classic. The Lions will play the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Friday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m. before facing The College of Wooster on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 4 p.m. Penn State Altoona closes the month at home on Tuesday, Nov. 24, when it hosts Grove City College at 3 p.m.

In December, the Lions have an exhibition game at Division I Cleveland State University on Sunday, Dec. 13, with the start time to be announced. Penn State Altoona then returns home to host Regent, Albion College, and Dickinson College in the Altoona Holiday Tournament on Sunday, Dec. 20, and Monday, Dec. 21. The Lions take on Regent at 8 p.m. on Sunday, then will go up against either Albion or Dickinson on Monday at 1 or 3 p.m. Penn State Altoona closes its December schedule on Tuesday, Dec. 29, with another exhibition game at Division I foe University at Albany, with the start time to be announced.

AMCC play begins on Wednesday, Jan. 6, when the Lions travel to Carlow University for a 5 p.m. game. Penn State Altoona's home conference opener is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 9, when it hosts Pitt-Bradford at 2 p.m. The Lions then remain at home for a conference game against Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 5 p.m.

Penn State Altoona returns to the road on Saturday, Jan. 16, for a 1 p.m. conference game at Hilbert College. The Lions come back home on Monday, Jan. 18, to host Pitt-Greensburg in a 7 p.m. AMCC contest, and Penn State Altoona stays home on Saturday, Jan. 23, for a 2 p.m. conference game against La Roche University. The month concludes with road AMCC games at Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. and at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m.

February opens with a 5 p.m. league road game at Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The Lions then return home to host Carlow in a conference contest on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. Penn State Altoona is back on the road for conference games at Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. and at La Roche on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m.

The Lions close the regular season with two home AMCC games, hosting Mount Aloysius on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. before welcoming Hilbert on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m.

AMCC postseason tournament dates are Tuesday, Feb. 23, for the first round and Friday, Feb. 26, and Saturday, Feb. 27, for the semifinal and championship games.
