Women’s Golf Settles for Ninth at The Ruckus

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After the second and final day of The Ruckus, presented by Premier Collegiate Tournaments, on Sunday at Williamsburg National Golf Club, the Penn State Altoona women's golf team took ninth place out of nine teams.

Penn State Altoona shaved 20 shots off of its day-one total, compiling a team score of 454 in Sunday's round. The Lions finished with a two-day score of 928 to come in ninth place.

York College (Pa.) won the tournament with a combined score of 625, Bowdoin College was the runner-up with 643, and Drew University placed third with 646.

Lauren Thompson (Austin, TX/Anderson) was Penn State Altoona's top finisher on the weekend, placing 23rd out of 48 individual golfers. Thompson shot a team-low 85 in Sunday's round and finished with a two-day score of 182.

Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens) finished in 43rd place, after she duplicated her score from round one by shooting 117 again in round two, totaling 234 across two days. Sabella Wu (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) was next, taking 44th place after she shot 116 on Sunday and totaled 237 in two rounds.

Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) came in 46th place, after carding 136 on Sunday and recording a total score of 275. Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) placed 47th with a two-day score of 284, including her 145 on Sunday.

Next, the Penn State Altoona women's golf team will prepare for hosting duties on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, when the team will welcome a field of squads to compete in the Pennsylvania Classic. The two-day tournament will be held at the Penn State White Course in State College.
