Women’s Golf Holds 10th in Pennsylvania Classic
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's golf team teed off its second tournament of the spring semester on Saturday, when the Lions competed in day one of the Pennsylvania Classic at the Penn State White Course.
Penn State Altoona, the host of the two-day event, finished Saturday's round in 10th place out of 10 teams after compiling a score of 440. Washington & Jefferson College was in first place with 324, Westminster College was second with 332, and Allegheny College held third with 348.
Lauren Thompson (Austin, TX/Anderson) had Penn State Altoona's low round, finishing the day 12-over par with an 84 that put her in seventh place out of 51 individuals.
Sabella Wu (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) shot 112 to end the day in 45th place, and Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens) finished the round in a tie for 46th place after carding 114. Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) shot 130 for 50th place, and Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) was 51st with a score of 133.
Tomorrow, Sunday, March 30, is the second and final day of the Pennsylvania Classic.
