Women’s Golf Ties for 11th Place at Susquehanna Invite
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's golf team started its weekend road trip Saturday afternoon, when the Lions played in the Family Practice Susquehanna Spring Invitational at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.
Penn State Altoona shot 463 as a team on the par 70 course to finish the tournament in a tie for 11th place out of 12 teams in the event.
Bloomsburg University won the invitational with a team score of 338, and host Susquehanna University was the runner-up with 350. Seton Hill University placed third with 356.
Lauren Thompson (Austin, TX/Anderson) was the top finisher for Penn State Altoona, as she tied for 29th place out of 61 individuals after scoring a 99. Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens) finished in 46th place after shooting 114.
Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) tied for 55th place with 124, Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) shot 126 to tie for 58th place, and Sabella Wu (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) tied for 60th place with 135.
Penn State Altoona women's golf wraps up its weekend tomorrow, Sunday, April 6, when it will compete in the Gettysburg College Spring Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Gettysburg College at Carroll Valley Golf Course, is scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m.
