Women’s Golf Takes Seventh in Gettysburg Invitational
FAIRFIELD, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's golf team played in its second tournament of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, when the Lions competed in the Gettysburg College Spring Invitational at Carroll Valley Golf Course.
Penn State Altoona shot 450 as a team on the par 71 course to finish in seventh place out of seven squads. Host Gettysburg won the event with 323, while Marymount University was the runner-up with 330.
Lauren Thompson (Austin, TX/Anderson) tied for 17th place out of 34 individuals on the day after she fired a 93. Sabella Wu (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) was 28th place with 118, Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) took 29th place with a score of 119, Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens) came in 30th place after shooting 120, and Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) was 34th with 136.
Women's golf will conclude its 2024-25 schedule on Monday, April 21, when the Lions will host the Penn State Altoona Spring Invitational at their home course, Sinking Valley Country Club. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
