Women’s Golf Closes 2024-25 Season at Home

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Lions women's golf team wrapped up its 2024-25 schedule with a home tournament on Monday afternoon, when the team hosted the Penn State Altoona Spring Invitational at Sinking Valley Country Club.

The Lions also recognized senior golfer Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) in a post-event Senior Day ceremony. Forcey is the first senior in the new era of the Penn State Altoona women's golf program, which today concluded its first NCAA regular season since 2007 after the sport was reinstalled at Ivyside in August 2023.

Division II Seton Hill University won the invitational with a team score of 344 on the par 72 course. Arcadia University was second with 356, Juniata College placed third with 398, and Penn State Altoona shot 439 as a team to finish in fourth.

Lauren Thompson (Austin, TX/Anderson) fired an 87 to tie for fourth place out of 22 individuals in the round, while Sabella Wu (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) shot a season-low 103 to finish in 14th place individually.

Forcey came in 18th place on the player leaderboard after carding 122, and Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens) was 20th with 122. Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) rounded out the Lions' lineup with a score of 136 to place 21st.

Penn State Altoona women's golf competed in nine events and a total of 12 rounds during the 2024-25 season. The team's 2025-26 schedule will be announced this summer.
