Women's Golf Starts PA Classic in 11th Place
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's golf team teed off its second tournament of the spring semester on Saturday, when the Lions competed in day one of the Pennsylvania Classic at Penn State White Course.
Penn State Altoona, the host of the two-day event, finished Saturday's round in 11th place out of 11 teams after compiling a score of 465. Washington & Jefferson College was in first place with 331, Susquehanna University was second with 338, and Westminster College placed third with 342.
Alexis Peacock (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) had Penn State Altoona's low in the round, finishing the day 26-over-par with a 98 that put her in 37th place out of 58 individuals.
Clarissa Long (Altoona, PA/Altoona) shot 112 to end the day in 52nd place. Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) shot 114 to place 53rd, and Taylor Bezdek (Great Falls, VA/Dominion) was 58th with a score of 141.
Tomorrow, Sunday, March 29, is the second and final day of the Pennsylvania Classic.
