Lions Suffer Loss at Alvernia

READING, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's wrestling team competed in its second dual meet of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday night, when the Lions were defeated 53-6 by non-conference opponent Alvernia University at the Physical Education Center.

Penn State Altoona opened the meet with six points, when Tammar Reza (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) received a forfeit win at 125. But Alvernia got six points of its own in the next weight class, picking up a forfeit win at 133.

The Golden Wolves scored points in the next eight classes, getting four more forfeit wins while handing losses to Lion wrestlers at 141, 149, 157, and 174.

Next up, the Penn State Altoona men's wrestling team will compete in the Mat Town Open I, hosted by Lock Haven University, this upcoming Sunday, December 1. The start time for the event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
