Men's Wrestling Downed by Wildcats

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's wrestling team competed against the Penn College Wildcats in their sixth dual meet of the season Thursday night, where they lost 59-0. 

Penn State Altoona's Tammar Reza (Montgomery, NJ/Montgomery) opened the meet, competing in the 125-weight class, where he lost via technical fall to Harris Keares in 1:00.  

After a series of forfeits by the Lions, Gonzalo Santana Hernandez (Short Hills, NJ/Millburn) competed in the 165 class, losing by fall in 2:39 to Daniel Clark. In the 174 bout, Andrew Weaver (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) lost to Gavin Gomes by fall in 4:16.  

The Wildcats posted wins at 184, 197, and 285 to close out the dual with a 59-0 victory over the Lions.  

Up next, the Penn State Altoona men's wrestling team travels to Erie to face Mercyhurst University and Penn State Behrend in their first tri-meet of the season on December 13. Their first dual is set for 12:00 p.m.
