Men's Wrestling Competes Against Two in Keystone Tri-Meet
LA PLUME, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's wrestling team started out in 2026 competing in the Keystone Tri-Meet, hosted by Keystone College at the Gambal Athletic Center.
Meet One: SUNY Oneonta 59, Penn State Altoona, 0
Gonzalo Santana Hernandez (Short Hills, NJ/Millburn) and Andrew Weaver (Tyrone, PA / Tyrone) competed for the Lions against SUNY Oneonta.
Penn State Altoona forfeited the first five rounds before Hernandez lost via technical fall 15-0 to SUNY Oneonta's Cael Owen at 2:28.
After another forfeit in the 174 class, Weaver took on Jack Ryan in the 184-weight class, losing via fall at 0:36.
The Lions forfeited the next two rounds as SUNY Oneonta won 59-0.
Meet Two: Keystone 36, Penn State Altoona, 6
The Lions forfeited in the first three rounds to find themselves down 18-0.
In the 165 bout, Hernandez faced Codi Bomboy, losing via fall at 1:09.
Weaver won via forfeit in the 184 round, before the Lions forfeited the last two rounds to lose 36-6.
Up next, Penn State Altoona men's wrestling travels to Alfred, N.Y. to compete in the AMCC Duals, hosted by Alfred State College on Saturday, January 10. The meets are set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
