Men's Wrestling Competes in AMCC Duals
ALFRED, N.Y. - The Penn State Altoona men's wrestling team traveled north to compete in the AMCC Duals hosted by Alfred State College at Orvis Gym.
Gonzalo Santana Hernandez (Short Hills, NJ/Millburn) and Andrew Weaver (Tyrone, PA / Tyrone) competed for the Lions against Alfred State and Pitt-Bradford.
Meet One: Alfred State 60, Penn State Altoona 0
Penn State Altoona forfeited the first five rounds before Hernandez lost via fall to Christian Warren at 3:18.
After a forfeit in the 174 bout, Weaver faced Keeran Timerman in the 184-weight class, where he lost via fall at 0:40.
The first meet ended with Penn State Altoona forfeiting in the 197 and 285-weight classes and losing 60-0.
Meet Two: Pitt-Bradford 53, Penn State Altoona 0
The Lions lost via forfeit in the first five bouts to find themselves 30-0 down in the meet.
In the 165-weight division, Hernandez lost by technical fall 15-0 at 0:49 to Peyton Mitchell.
Weaver competed against Dennis Slovick in the 184-weight division, losing via fall at 0:49 to make it 41-0.
Penn State Altoona forfeited in the 197 and 285-weight classes to lose 53-0.
In their next meet, Penn State Altoona men's wrestling travels to compete against Misericordia University on Monday, January 12. The dual is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
