NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona junior Caden Traggiai (Sarver, PA/Knoch) and senior Sarah Petry (St. Benedict, PA/Cambria Heights) were selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Traggiai and Petry each recorded a pair of individual wins while also being part of first-place relay finishes in the Penn State Altoona swim teams' season opener on Friday night at Washington & Jefferson College.

Traggiai won the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:00.64 and took first place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:30.64. He also combined with his teammates to finish first in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, in which the group posted a total time of 1:31.41.

Petry placed first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:09.76 and won the 500 Yard Freestyle after clocking in at 5:50.59. She was also part of her team's first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, in which Petry and her teammates combined for a time of 1:52.23.

The men's swimming team tied W&J 114.5-114.5 in the meet, and the women's team won 127-93.

The Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams return to action on the road next Friday, October 25, with a dual meet at non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College starting at 6 p.m.
