Women's Wrestling Falls to Saints

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Penn State Altoona women's wrestling team traveled to face Marymount University in their third dual meet of the season, where they lost to the Saints 32-11.  

Naomi Nachmias (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and Gianna Slusser (Raleigh, NC/Garner Magnet) got wins for the Lions to highlight the meet. 

Nachmias started the meet on the right foot, defeating Marymount's Nicole Barahona Rios by fall in 2:26 to make it 5-0 for the Lions. The Saints equalized a 5-5 with a forfeit win at 110, before adding to their lead with a 10-6 decision in the 124 clash between Ingrid Penn and Richele Reyes (Buckingham, UK/Alconbury) to make it 8-6. 

In the following 131 bout, Slusser defeated Alyssa Landrum by fall in 1:19 to make it 11-8 in favor of the Lions.  

After a forfeit in 138, Jennifer Djobo downed Aliana Romero (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) by tech fall to make the score 17-11 in favor of the Saints. 

Marymount gained 15 more points through forfeits to conclude the meet with a 32-11 victory over the Lions. 

Up next, Penn State Altoona women's wrestling will travel to John Carroll University to compete in the JCU Duals on Sunday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m.
