Women's Wrestling Finishes Competing in NCAA Region 2 Championships
WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. - The Penn State Altoona women's wrestling team finished competing in the NCAA Women's Wrestling Regional #2 Championships Saturday morning, hosted by West Liberty University.
The Lions scored 12.5 points throughout the tournament to place 13th out of 17 teams.
For the Lions, Naomi Nachmias (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) wrestled in the 103 bracket, Richele Reyes (Buckingham, UK/Alconbury) competed at 124, and Gianna Slusser (Raleigh, NC/Garner Magnet) was at 131.
Nachmias's day started in the consolation round 3, where she lost by decision, 7-2, to Arcadia University's Samantha Larkin. With the loss, Nachmias's tournament ended.
Reyes competed in the consolation round 3, losing to Pitt Johnstown's Isabel Alvarez by technical fall, 10-0, at 2:22. With the loss, Reyes's tournament ended.
In the consolation round 3 of the 131-class, Slusser lost to East Stroudsburg University's Gianna Amendola by fall at 3:38. With the loss, Slusser's tournament ended.
