Women’s Cross Country Takes 27th at Gettysburg Invite

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's cross country team finished in 27th place out of 33 teams on Saturday morning, when the Lions competed in Gettysburg College's Aubrey Shenk Invitational 6K race.

The Lions compiled a team score of 747 to earn 27th place on the leaderboard. Georgetown University Running Club won the meet with 45 points, while Division I schools Saint Francis University and Mount Saint Mary's University finished in second and third, respectively.

Victoria Scutti (Bellefonte, PA/State College) had Penn State Altoona's fastest time in the 6K, clocking in at 23:43.8 to wrap up 54th place out of 300 individual runners. Kayla Crowe (Rockland County, NY/Clarkstown South) posted a time of 27:14.6 to finish in 200th place.

Sharon Lin (Manhattan, NY/Beaver Dam) came in 234th place with a time of 28:55.6, Samantha Robinson (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/Hasbrouck Heights) got 275th place after finishing in 33:01.4, and Veronica Benvenuto (North Salem, NY/North Salem) took 291st with a time of 37:17.9.

Next up, the Penn State Altoona women's cross country team will compete in the Last Chance Run Fast Invitational on Friday, October 24. The race, hosted by Lebanon Valley College, is scheduled for 11 a.m. that day at the Union Canal Tunnel Park.
