Women's Cross Country Places Fourth at LVC Invite
LEBANON, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's cross country team competed in their final meet before the AMCC Championships Friday morning, finishing fourth out of four teams in the LVC Last Chance Run Fast Invitational.
The Lions compiled a team score of 69 to earn fourth place on the leaderboard. Monroe University won the meet with a score of 41, while Penn College and Penn State Schuylkill finished second and third, respectively.
Kayla Crowe (Rockland County, NY/Clarkstown South) had Penn State Altoona's fastest time in the 6K, clocking in at 27:31.5 to finish ninth place out of 39 individual runners. Sharon Lin (Manhattan, NY/Beaver Dam) posted a time of 30:15.0 to finish in 18th place.
Jordan Franks (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) and Samantha Robinson (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/Hasbrouck Heights) would finish within ten seconds of each other (31:08.0 and 31:18.0 respectively) to place 23rd and 24th.
Hailey Burchfield (Everett, PA/Everett) and Veronica Benvenuto (North Salem, NY/North Salem) finished within 15 seconds of each other (37:07.0 and 37:22.0 respectively) to finish in 32nd and 33rd place.
Up next, the Penn State Altoona women's cross country team will compete in the AMCC Championships in Erie on Saturday, November 1. The race is set to start at 12:00 p.m.
