Women's Cross Country Earns Fourth at AMCC Championships
ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's cross country team placed fourth out of seven scoring teams in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships Saturday afternoon.
Penn State Altoona finished with a team score of 101 to take fourth place in the 6K race, finishing ahead of Pitt Greensburg who had a score of 129.
Host school Penn State Behrend finished in first place with a score of 25, while Alfred State finished in second place with a score of 53. Carlow rounded out the top three with a score of 88.
Victoria Scutti (Bellefonte, PA/State College) was the Lions' first finisher, clocking a time of 26:10.2 to finish second individually to earn AMCC runner-up status.
The Lions would have three runners finish in the top 25. Jordan Franks (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) finished in 20th place with a time of 32:01.8, Sharon Lin (Manhattan, NY/Beaver Dam) finished in 21st place with a time of 32:08.5, and Samantha Robinson (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/Hasbrouck Heights) finished in 24th place with a time of 33:43.2.
Veronica Benvenuto (North Salem, NY/North Salem) clocked a time of 40:09.0 to finish in 38th place. Naomi Nachmias finished in 44th place with a time of 53:53.9.
The Penn State Altoona women's cross country team will return to action at the Mid-Atlantic Region Championships on November 15.
