Rauch Selected AMCC Player of the Week in Baseball

LATROBE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona baseball's senior first baseman Jonathan Rauch (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week for the first time in his collegiate career, when the league office announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon.  

Rauch had a strong week at the plate for the Lions, as the Penn State Altoona baseball team won four of their six games last week at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.  

In a 12-7 victory against Thomas, Rauch combined to hit 4-for-5 with a walk and three runs while recording two RBI. Two days later, in a tight 9-6 loss to Penn State Abington, Rauch hit 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI. In a pair of wins over Gordon, Rauch had two hits in five at bats, two walks, two runs, and one RBI. In a 5-4 victory against Fredonia, Rauch hit 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.  

On the week, the senior hit .619 (13-for-21) with nine runs scored, five RBI, three walks, two stolen bases, one double, and one home run. He had a .680 on-base percentage and slugged .810. 

Penn State Altoona baseball returns to action this Saturday, March 21, in an AMCC doubleheader against Penn State Behrend. The first pitch of the conference opener is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
