Women's Soccer Drops Conference Game Against Lions
ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's soccer team travelled to compete in their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game today as they took on reigning champions Penn State Behrend.
Penn State Behrend (5-2-2, 1-0 AMCC) would have 30 shots, nine of which were on goal, while holding Penn State Altoona (3-4-2, 0-1 AMCC) to one shot.
Mya Torres (Culpeper, VA/Culpeper County) would make her ninth straight start, making eight saves.
Lizzie Hoff would break through the Penn State Altoona backline 17 minutes into the first half, giving Penn State Behrend a 1-0 lead. Penn State Behrend would push for another goal but would be kept out by Torres and the Penn State Altoona defense.
The Penn State Altoona's women's soccer team returns home to Spring Run Stadium on Tuesday, September 30, to face conference foe Pitt Greensburg. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
