Women's Soccer Draws Bobcats 0-0

ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's soccer team returned to Spring Run Stadium Tuesday evening to face Pitt Greensburg. Both teams would create chances, but the game would finish 0-0.

Pitt Greensburg (3-6-2, 0-0-1 AMCC) would put on pressure early, firing off eight shots in the first 25 minutes of the match. Conversely, Penn State Altoona (3-4-3, 0-1-1 AMCC) would be on the backfoot for most the first half, only firing off two shots in the entire half. Pitt Greensburg's best chance of the half would come at the end of the first half, as Emma Reyes would get a breakaway opportunity that would be saved by Mya Torres (Culpeper, VA / Culpeper County).

Much like the first half, the Bobcats would dominate possession. Unlike the first half, they would not get as many shots, tallying four shots in the second half, compared to 12 in the first half. Their best opportunity of the second half would be in the 89th minute when Gabriella Finch hit the crossbar.

Torres would come up big for the Lions, making 10 saves in goal. Offensively, Rachel Rutkowski (Canonsburg, PA / Canon-McMillan) would be the only Lion to get a shot on goal.

In their next game, the Penn State Altoona women's soccer team travels to Cresson, Pa. to face local rivals Mount Aloysius. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
